He’s A Terrible (more like Terrifying!) Two!!!

My baby is 2. I can’t really believe it, even though I made the cupcakes (for the daycare treat and for the “real” party!) and bought the gift and cleaned up after the guests left. Who told him he could start growing up? Not me! He really is growing up so much – I measured him and Isaiah on the wall the other day and he’s grown a good couple of inches since January (so has Isaiah for that matter). He’s getting heavier too – I think he’s about 27 pounds now. Of course he still looks nice and little next to his cousin Libby – only 4 weeks older and she is 37 pounds!

His favorite gift had to be the tricycle from Grandma and Grandpa S. It’s cute and yellow and has a handle so I can push him and he can just ride. We like to go for a little walk with Isaiah riding his bike and me pushing Xander beside him. Isaiah is getting pretty good on his big boy bike with training wheels and really is happy that Xander has his own bike now!

Summer Slowdown

Summer has just flown by this year (doesn’t it always?)!! We spent a week earlier this month in BC with my mom. Her new house is so beautiful and it was so nice to take it easy for a week. The kids really enjoyed spending so much time with Grandma. We went hiking and took a couple of different driving tours – I took so many pictures!!

Now summer is winding down and it’s time to prepare for fall. My last “easy” fall, as next fall will be kindergarten – oh my!!! I’m so glad we decided to hold off on kindy until next year for I. He really doesn’t seem quite ready and I’m glad to not be buying school supplies and thinking about teachers and field trips etc.

This fall will be busy though, we already have an engagement dinner to attend, we still have landscaping to complete before winter, DH and I are going to play on a recreational volleyball team on Monday nights. Plus of course it’s now less than 2 months before my spa weekend with the girls – I just can’t wait!!!

Of course, most importantly, this weekend is X’s 2nd birthday – we’re buying him a tricycle. He’s going to enjoy it so much. My baby is growing up. It’s so bittersweet.
