1. Do you like the look and the contents of your blog? Sure – it’s pink!! I’m not so creative so it’s just fine for now.

2-Does your family know about your blog? Nope

3- Can you tell your friends about your blog? I could, but I don’t, not really sure why. Partly cause they already know most of what I say here (although I think I need to branch out with my topics!) but also none of them have kids so that part of it doesn’t really interest them much. Also none of them are into blogging yet.

4-Do you just read the blogs of those who comment on your blog? I read blogs that I find in various way, I think the first few were blogs I saw listed on Fertility Friend and then I went to all the links on each blog I read and kept going from there!

5-Did your blog positively affect your mind? Yes, the outlet it gives me really helps me.

6-What does the number of visitors to your blog mean? Nothing – I don’t really get many!

7-Do you imagine what other bloggers look like? No

8-Do you think blogging has any real benefit? Absolutely – it can benefit an individual by giving them an emotional or creative outlet and it also creates for me a sense of community – strangers who are more like me than I would realize in real life.

9-Do you think that the blogosphere is a stand alone community separated from the real world? Kind of for me, but I recognize the ability of the “real world” to become involved in the blog world in a sense (ie if you are writing about your job your employer may read your blog and there may be consequences) I post to my blog with this knowledge in mind and I actually think I should be more private in some ways – less identifiable I guess (should use better pseudonyms!)

10-Do some political blogs scare you? Do you avoid them? Don’t read them, I like personal blogs

11-Do you think that criticizing your blog is useful? Nope – constructive comments maybe, but for me it’s almost like a shared diary, not really a thing to critique.

12- Have you ever thought about what would happen to your blog in case you died. No, not too concerned about it either, I’ve written nothing I’m ashamed of or that I would delete in the case of imminent death.

13-Which blogger had the greatest impression on you? my first real and favorite blog was a woman named Catherine Newman – she started writing on a parenting website and I have just loved her style and openness.

14-Which blogger do you think is the most similar to you? Not sure

15-Name a song you want to listen to? Godspeed, Sweet Dreams by the Dixie Chicks – a current fave that is never on the radio but thankfully is on my iPod!

Fever + Rash + Sick Toddler =

Scarlet Fever! Can you say surprised?! When Xan’s daycare called saying he had a fever I wasn’t exactly surprised. He gets sick so easily but it’s usually a cold or an ear infection. I picked him up and gave him lots of love and cuddles for the rest of the day. By the next day his fever was still up but not high for him (he often hits 103 and this time he was only around 100). Friday afternoon a soft red rash started to appear and we thought maybe heat rash from the fever? By Sat am the rash was darker and spreading so I knew something bad might be up. Of course I did my usual internet research and decided it was maybe Roseola or Fifths disease. I called and got him in with the doc for Sat around lunch.

The doc asked if he had a sore throat – sorry lady I can’t tell if my 2 year old has a sore throat, his communication skills aren’t that awesome, especially when he is lethargic and feverish. She checked his ears which were surprisingly clear but after inspecting his throat and the rash she diagnosed scarlet fever and gave us antibiotics.

I hadn’t really thought Scarlet Fever was still around in developed countries – isn’t that ignorant of me? I went right home and looked it up of course and it’s not as scary as it sounds thankfully. It can be serious without treatment, but since we caught it early and started treatment right away Xan should have no lasting problems. He has actually gotten better quite quickly thankfully – I’m even back at work finally today!
