What is creativity to you?
This is a boundary-less and limit-less prompt. You can write what you believe creativity is, or where it comes from, or post a nonsense poem. It’s all creative in my book.
Creativity is a hard to achieve thing for me, kind of like a dream that is on the tip of your tongue when you wake up but gone by the time you finish making coffee. I feel like I’m full of ideas and thoughts sometimes. Then I sit down to write. And then it’s gone.
One thing that inspires me and lets my creativity flow is mother nature. Talking a long, quiet walk outdoors can allow my mind to focus and relax all at once, so that that wellspring of creativity flows. My noisy, busy household often dries that creativity right up though – I can focus on work and tasks with my boisterous boys around, but to truly feel inspired I need peace and quiet. Sunshine helps too!
I struggle to be creative too. Sometimes (rarely) I have moments where I feel I can burst with it, but I struggle to actually do anything with that feeling. I enjoy creative hobbies (scrapbooking & card making) but mostly I scraplift for those (find inspiration from others). Blogging though has become a place where not only do I feel creative, but I feel that creativity is really me. I find peace from putting words down and working through thoughts and feelings. I guess just getting it out clears up mental space to be inspired!
I definitely enjoy the creativity of blogging – but sometimes struggle with the inspiration for exactly what to blog about! Thanks for stopping by Christine!
It’s so true: when my body is in a relaxed state, whether it be a walk outside or just sitting in the sun, my mind lets go enough to get creative.
When I overthink, I’m totally screwed. My brain freezes.
